1. Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

PB Cambridge Consult is an international education consulting firm headquartered in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Through this website we operate three connected services: our study-abroad consulting practice, the PBC iSAT inter-school academic competition, and PBC EduAid, our community outreach arm. This one policy covers all three, including the pages under /isat and /eduaid.

We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, where our website is visited from the European Economal Area or United Kingdom, we aim to meet the standards of the GDPR and UK GDPR for those visitors.

2. The Information We Actually Collect

We only collect what each service genuinely needs:

• Consultation and enquiry forms: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, the study destination you are interested in, and anything you write in your message.
• Study-abroad casework (paying clients): academic transcripts, WAEC/NECO results, test scores (SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, GRE), passport data pages, financial documents for visa applications, and correspondence with universities — always supplied by you or with your written authorisation.
• PBC iSAT registration: the student's name, school, class level, and a parent's or school coordinator's contact details. Because most iSAT participants are under 18, we require registrations to come through a parent, guardian, or authorised school official.
• PBC EduAid: contact details of volunteers, donors, and partner schools who reach out through our forms or email.
• Newsletter subscriptions: your email address only.
• Blog comments: the name and comment text you type. Comments are stored in your own browser's local storage on your device — they are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
• Automatic data: if you accept cookies, Google Analytics 4 records anonymised usage data (pages visited, approximate location at city level, device type) with IP anonymisation enabled.

3. Why We Use Your Data (Lawful Bases)

We use personal data to: respond to your enquiries; prepare and submit university, scholarship, and visa applications you have engaged us for; administer iSAT registrations, sittings, and results; coordinate EduAid programmes; send the newsletter you subscribed to; and understand how our website is used so we can improve it.

Our lawful bases under the NDPA are: performance of a contract (casework and iSAT administration), consent (newsletter, cookies, analytics, advertising), and legitimate interest (responding to enquiries and keeping our website secure). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting services already delivered.

4. Who We Share Data With — and Who We Never Share It With

In the course of casework we share your documents with the specific universities, scholarship bodies, embassies, and accommodation providers involved in your applications — and only on your instruction. We also use service providers who process data on our behalf: our web hosting provider, Google (Analytics and AdSense, described in the advertising section below), and email services used to send the newsletter.

We never sell personal data. We never rent mailing lists. We never share iSAT participants' details with anyone other than their own school and parent or guardian, except in an anonymised form for results publication (for example, a leaderboard showing name, school, and score, which schools and parents consent to at registration).

5. Children and iSAT Participants

Our consulting services are aimed at students aged 16 and above and their families. The iSAT competition involves secondary school students, so we deliberately collect the minimum data needed to run the competition, require adult-supervised registration, and delete participant records that are no longer needed after each competition cycle, keeping only results archives. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us directly, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Cookies and Your Choices

When you first visit, a consent banner asks whether you accept cookies. Until you accept, Google Analytics and advertising cookies stay switched off — our site uses Google Consent Mode, which defaults every measurement and advertising signal to "denied". If you accept, your choice is remembered in your browser (a small localStorage flag called pbc_cookie_consent) and analytics is switched on. You can reverse this at any time by clearing your browser data for this site, and the banner will ask again on your next visit.

Strictly necessary items — such as the consent flag itself and any locally stored comments you write — do not track you and work without consent.

7. How Long We Keep Data

• Enquiries that do not become casework: deleted within 12 months.
• Client casework files: kept for up to 3 years after your final service, because visa appeals, university deferrals, and scholarship follow-ups routinely reach back that far — then securely deleted.
• iSAT registration data: deleted after each competition cycle; anonymised results archives are retained.
• Newsletter list: kept until you unsubscribe (every email contains an unsubscribe link).
• Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics for 14 months, its minimum setting.

8. Security and International Transfers

This website is served over HTTPS only. Client documents are stored in access-controlled systems available to the consultants working on your file, and payment details are handled by your bank or payment provider — we do not store card numbers. When your application documents go to a university or embassy abroad, that is an international transfer you have instructed; where our own service providers store data outside Nigeria (for example, Google), they do so under their own published data-protection commitments.

9. Your Rights Under the NDPA

You can ask us to: confirm what data we hold about you; give you a copy; correct anything inaccurate; delete data we no longer need; restrict or object to particular processing; and withdraw any consent you gave. Email us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our answer, you have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

10. Updates to This Policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page. If a change meaningfully affects how we use existing clients' data, we will email affected clients before the change takes effect.
